Are the Gospels Reliable History?
Jon Noyes, Stand to Reason

This five-session course explores whether the Gospels are reliable, historically grounded accounts of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We’ll examine the evidence behind the New Testament, evaluate the credibility of its authors, and consider textual integrity and outside corroboration. Along the way, we’ll respond to common objections and provide tools to engage skeptics with clarity. As Jon Noyes notes, undermining the Gospels would unravel Christianity—making this investigation vital for both believers and skeptics. More than history, this course invites you to think critically and faithfully about life’s biggest question: Can we trust what the Gospels say about Jesus?

Are Science and Faith Compatible?
Tim Barnett

"All Scientists Should Be Militant Atheists." That was the headline in The New Yorker a few years ago. The article claimed that science "draws people away from religion." Many people have bought into this idea. But is this true? Are science and faith incompatible? In this course, Tim Barnett explores how a proper understanding of faith and science are completely compatible. Moreover, it was the Christian convictions of the founders of modern science that led to the birth of modern science. Finally, Tim gives an example of how studying the natural world can draw you to God and strengthen your faith in Him.

Jesus: Only One Way

There is perhaps no other claim found in Scripture that’s met with more resistance and scorn from contemporary culture than the exclusive claim “Jesus is the only way.” The world around us says this claim is narrow-minded. It violates the widely accepted principle that all roads lead to heaven. It's offensive! But the question isn’t “Is it offensive?” The question is “Is it true?" In this course, we'll explore that question and many more.

Iowa Assessments: Supporting Norm-Referenced Interpretations in Math and Reading

Every student has a unique story and a unique trajectory along the learning continuum. Educators seek a combination of proven and creative solutions to assess student achievement and prepare for the next steps. The Iowa Assessments metrics clearly and concisely represent where a student is at a given point in time and help to establish goals for future points in time. This series will address specific metrics and how they can be used to support varied interpretations.

Comparison information is a key attribute of the Iowa Assessments. National percentile ranks allow educators to make appropriate comparisons at the region, school, and class levels. This course will identify and discuss the metrics that best support the use of norm-referenced interpretations in both mathematics and reading. The emphasis is on maximizing the usefulness of the information.
