Teaching Special Needs Students-3

Linda Bonsall; Kathy Hopkins

Gain a deeper understanding of the most common special needs that we are facing among students in Christian schools today. Specifically, we will be discussing learning disabilities, ADHD, giftedness, emotional disabilities, disorders on the autism spectrum, and other health impairments. Discover ways that you as an individual teacher or your school as a whole can implement best practices for providing accommodations and/or modifications for these special students. We will also be discussing how you can develop individual learning plans, provide grading options, and keep accurate documentation for special students going on to college. You will have the opportunity to hear about various case studies and how teachers have effectively addressed students' special needs.
