Truth is conveyed through multiple genres in the Bible because human understanding is diverse—we connect with stories, reflect through poetry, and reason through discourse. Each genre reaches the heart and mind in unique ways:

Narrative helps us see truth lived out through real people and events. It shows how God works in history and invites us into the ongoing story of His relationship with humanity.

Poetry stirs our emotions and imagination. Through metaphor and imagery, it captures the depth of human experience and points us toward worship, lament, and wonder.

Discourse presents clear teaching, commands, and wisdom. It helps us think critically, align our values with God’s truth, and apply biblical principles to our lives.

These styles work together to give a fuller picture of who God is—relational, holy, just, and near. They reflect the complexity of human experience and show that God speaks to every part of who we are: our hearts, minds, and lives.
