Worldview Teaching That Transforms Lives
Many of our young people walk away from their faith after leaving high school. One of the reasons is that they have not been trained in a biblical worldview in their EE-12 education to anticipate the intellectual and moral challenges of college. Sean McDowell explains why biblical worldview teaching is so critical in EE-12 and practical steps to enhance your lesson planning with worldview teaching.

Thinking is the Target Part 3 of 3
The need to know the capital of Florida died when my phone learned the answer. Rather, the students of tomorrow need to be able to think creatively, they will need to learn on their own, adapt to new challenges and innovate on-the-fly. (Trevor M. "My Favorite Quotes about Education".) This is an interesting insight, especially since it came from a high school student! But is he right? And if he is correct, what should we be teaching? How should we be equipping students to "act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with...God" and to positively influence society in an increasingly technological world? In this second session of the Teaching in a Connected World series by Dr. Kevin Washburn, we'll consider the goals and outcomes of teaching in a connected world. The Teaching in a Connected World series includes: Education in the Midst of Revolution (3 Parts), Thinking is the Target (3 Parts), Are our Means and Mission Mismatched? (3 Parts), Coaching: Teaching's New (or Coming) Metaphor (2 Parts).

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
That they all may be one, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:21 God delights in unity. The diversity of the body of believes can also create fragmentation. Dr. Dan Egeler encourages attendees of Leadership Academy 2014 that they are part of a "global tsunami" in Christian education that is sweeping across the globe and which God is using for His purposes. Unpacking research conducted on past decades of missionaries providing Christian education in developing countries, Christian educators will be encouraged to learn the transformative impact of those efforts on these cultures. Be encouraged that the work Christian educators are doing today is part of a legacy that began long ago and which God is using in mighty ways for His kingdom.

Social Networking is here to stay so it is important to discuss the types of policies that need to be in place regarding internet use and social networks. (Presented by Thomas J. Cathey, EdD, ACSI Chief of Staff and Director for Legal Legislative Issues.) Tom oversees monitoring of legislation in all fifty states and the federal government, is editor for the Legal Legislative Update and consults with schools around the country on legal, legislative and human resource issues. Tom has been with ACSI for the last six years. Before coming to ACSI, Tom was a Christian School Administrator for over 30 years in Florida.
Secularism, the Christian Mind, and the Christian School Part 3
God has created us with a capacity to know reality. His reality. Learning is an activity, truth is a reality. We serve a God who speaks to a word based culture and we have a moral nature. This is the essential foundation of the Christian school.
